Demon Slayer’s fourth season picks up the tempo, allowing Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps’ friends to practice and get ready for Muzan Kibutsuji’s impending battle now that Nezuko has taken control of the sun. The formidable Hashira is appointed by the Demon Slayer Corps to oversee training for all enlisted Corps recruits, as they are aware that Muzan plans to appropriate Nezuko’s ability to walk in sunlight for himself, thereby becoming him practically immortal.
When opposed to previous seasons of this popular shōnen anime, this arc tends to prioritize character growth and humor above action. Season 4 has a ton of funny moments, including the amusing waterfall training that Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke go through or the leotards Mitsuri Kanroji makes her trainees wear.
10 Tanjiro’s and Genya’s Crows Sling Insults Whenever They Meet

An initiate who enlists in the Demon Slayer Corps is paired with a Kasugai Crow companion that assists them in a variety of duties, including ordering, directing, and delivering messages. The color meanings of Nichirin blades have become almost as iconic with Demon Slayer Corps legend as these birds. Genya’s crow, Hashibami, was first rejected by his Demon Slayer Corps allies when they were first paired together, whereas Tanjiro’s crow, Matsuemon Tennoji, is intelligent and conceited.
Over the course of the series, Tanjiro and Genya’s friendship deepened to the point that, during the crucial Season 3 arc, the two became dependable allies. These two characters cross paths once more now that the Hashira is the required trainer for all members of the Demon Slayer Corps. The swordsmen now regard one another as comrades, but when they cross paths, the crows erupt in a hail of invective. Audiences laugh at the slayers’ peaceful, almost joyful exchange in contrast to the crows’ ferocious rivalry.
9 Tanjiro Convinces Giyu to Rejoin the Hashira With an Eating Contest

After several vicious battles between Muzan Kibutsuji’s Upper Moon demons and the Demon Slayer Corps, Season 3 of Demon Slayer came to an end. With numerous cuts, deep bruises, and shattered bones, Tanjiro begins Season 4 in the recovery wing where Aoi and Goto are tending to his wounds. A crow from Kagaya Ubuyashiki arrives before he has fully recovered, sending him after Giyu, the Water Hashira.
A beat of quiet follows an intimate moment in which Giyu relives some of his prior trauma and memories. Even though the Water Hashira had already made up his decision to return, a frightened Tanjiro determines at that calm moment that the only way to get Giyu to come back is to challenge him to an eating contest. In addition to being charming and hilarious, Tanjiro’s sincere request for an eating competition fortifies the bond between these two water-breathing swordsmen.
8 Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji Explains how Her Mark Materialized

Demons attack the village where the Demon Slayer Corps makes the vital Nichirin swords, and in the preceding Swordsmith Village arc of Season 3 of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro and his pals battle with Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito. These swords are essential to the slayers since they are infused with sunlight and have the ability to slice through demons.
As some of the strongest Hashira swordmasters, Mitsuri and Muichiro are able to defeat their opponents with the help of their markings appearing. Corps leadership inquires of both Hashira whether they can provide an explanation for the appearance of these potent markings after they return to either the Butterfly Mansion or the Ubuyashiki Mansion. The moment is amusing, especially when the astute Muichiro steps in to provide a more scientific explanation. Mitsuri’s use of onomatopoeia and her exaggerated hand motions when attempting to describe something that happened out of pure instinct are both entertaining.
7 The Cuts on the Demon Slayer Corps Members Sting in the Bathhouse

Each Hashira choose a skill in swordplay they want their recruits to be proficient in after deciding that every Demon Slayer Corps swordsman needs to go through intense training. In order to prevent a slayer’s blade from being fatally caught in the ground during battling, serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro chooses to train his students to strike with accuracy.
Because of his annoyance at Tanjiro and Mitsuri’s seeming closeness, Obanai orders Hashira to make training as challenging as possible for Tanjiro. To that end, he ties other Corps members to the room’s wooden beams and demands that Tanjiro battle him. Tanjiro’s attacks hit his fellow trainees when he swings recklessly. Not only is this setup humorous in and of itself, but every night the trainees take a bath, which aggravates their cuts and scrapes due to the hot water. Audiences laugh and feel grateful not to be in the trainees’ position every night as they witness the collective reluctance and terror of the bathhouse.
6 Zenitsu Hears Nezuko Speak for the First Time

Nezuko, Tanjiro’s sister, seems to be regaining more of her humanity now that she has defeated the sun and is able to go around in the daylight even as a demon. She can also speak in addition to that. After having her muzzle taken off, she is gradually picking up words and phrases from her previous human vocabulary.
The spectators’ hearts melt at Zenitsu’s response when, in the midst of the day, he comes to the recovery wing and sees a beaming Nezuko. And when Nezuko addresses Zenitsu by Inosuke’s name instead, fans get a prime example of comedy. The entire exchange is incredibly entertaining to watch because of Zenitsu’s horrified response, Nezuko’s ignorance, Tanjiro’s naive discussion with Goto regarding how Inosuke purposefully taught Nezuko his name alone, and the fact that this scene is crammed with some of the most well-known characters from the series.
5 Tanjiro Pesters Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka To Rejoin Training

Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, chooses against the training regimen, while the other Hashira accept it in the hopes of strengthening the Corps members and unlocking their marks. For reasons he doesn’t discuss with his fellow Hashira members, he withdraws to a private mansion distant from every other Corps member.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki writes Tanjiro a request, pleading with him to keep trying to reintegrate Giyu into the group. In the funny montage that ensues, Tanjiro, who is polite and determined, tries to talk to Giyu about the mental pain preventing him from joining the others, but Giyu is resistant. The realization that Tanjiro may be among the most endearing shōnen protagonists available adds the proverbial icing to the situation and enriches the whole experience for viewers.
4 Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji Teaches Flexibility in Leotards

Love Hashira is one of the two female leaders of the Demon Slayer Corps. Whenever Mitsuri Kanroji arrives, she takes up most of the screen. She prefers to fight with grace and flexibility over strength and force, and this approach has helped her win significant bouts throughout the previous Swordsmith Village arc. Because of this, Mitsuri chooses to give her pupils flexibility training once Hashira elects to retrain the Corps.
After a little tea party with pancakes, butter, and syrup, Mitsuri offers Tanjiro a soft pink leotard to change into when he gets to his training. This moment is made funny by Tanjiro’s enthusiastic and proud standing in his leggings while the other trainees appear uncomfortable. This incident is even more hilarious when you observe as Mitsuri has her trainees spread their legs in an extremely abrupt and severe manner.
3 Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro Makes His Students a Part of His Training Exercise

Following his successful completion of Muichiro’s challenge to move constantly, Tanjiro visits Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro to practice swinging and striking with accuracy. Tanjiro compares the experience to fighting in the wilderness, pointing out that in a real combat, a slayer’s blade becoming entangled in a tree, the ground, or anything else may spell the difference between life and death for the fighter.
Obanai binds the other Corps members to the horizontal and vertical beams of his training house in order to make sure Tanjiro learns this lesson the hard way—and possibly as a kind of punishment for becoming overly comfortable with Mitsuri. When Tanjiro and Obanai spar, their terrified looks and hushed cries strike the ideal balance between tense and humorous, especially when viewers realize how stressed out Tanjiro is over missing his fellow fighters.
2 Zenitsu Attempts to Flee from Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa’s Brutal Training

Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa chooses to train his Corp members in endless slicing, which is essentially just him striking them repeatedly. It’s a harsh kind of training that’s probably intended to increase defensive power and resilience. But in truth, it’s really simply a way for the perpetually angry, slightly insane Shinazugawa to let loose, which he does happily when Tanjiro shows there because he seems to detest the main character.
When Zenitsu tries to escape the tough training, he encounters Tanjiro his route to enroll. Zenitsu, who has been beaten to the extent of having to crawl like a spider over the walls and floor, begs Tanjiro to save him before Shinazugawa discovers them. Tanjiro becomes agitated and politely declines, causing the two to linger long enough for the Wind Hashira to arrive and retrieve Zenitsu. The entire incident is so absurd that it leaves a mark on the spectators’ faces.
1 Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke Barely Survive Waterfall Training

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke train under Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, for the final portion of their training. Possibly the strongest of all the Hashira, his unique training regimen entails Corps members dragging a boulder about four hundred feet, lifting a gigantic set of heavy logs, and standing beneath a cold waterfall.
For the first time this season, the key trio is back together during this training session. And when they come together, the antics get really funny. Despite being quite brief, this scene is jam-packed with hilarious moments, from Zenitsu cuddling up against a rock to Tanjiro almost being carried away by the river’s current.
